How is the comma "allocated"?

“Accordingly,” can be an introductory word expressing the obviousness of the consequences of what is happening, and by its meaning it can be equated to “hence, therefore.” In this case, "respectively" is marked with commas. At the same time, it can easily move in a sentence without violating its meaning, no matter where it is located:

  • “He devoted a lot of time to the project. His experience increased accordingly. ”
  • “He devoted a lot of time to the project. Accordingly, his experience increased. ”
  • “He devoted a lot of time to the project. His experience increased accordingly. ”

When "accordingly" plays the role of an adverb, in meaning it can be equated in meaning to "appropriately." In this case, the word is not highlighted by commas: "This event was very important, so she wanted to look appropriate to the occasion."
